'Ground-breaking reform': Ombudsman lauds NSW's Aboriginal affairs strategy

The NSW Ombudsman has lauded the state's Aboriginal affairs strategy as a "ground-breaking reform" that represents a "significant move towards supporting Aboriginal self-determination in NSW".

An independent evaluation of the government's OCHRE (Opportunity, Choice, Healing, Responsibility and Empowerment) strategy, tabled in Parliament on Monday by Ombudsman Michael Barnes, recommended extending its footprint and highlighted its local decision-making initiative. Read more
